Boomer Gallery - 2026

Three works from the Packaged Temptation series were presented: RedApple Cigarettes (24 × 24 inches), JackRabbit Superslims (24 × 36 inches), and SmokingKills (24 × 18 inches), executed primarily in acrylic, with SmokingKills incorporating oil paint and liquin gel.

Working through a visual language that feels at once familiar and disarming, the series reflects on cycles of addiction, social conditioning, and the quiet pressures embedded within everyday consumption. Bright, accessible surfaces carry more unstable undercurrents—where desire, control, and repetition begin to blur.

At the centre of the presentation, SmokingKills emerged as a point of friction. Its heightened detail and material layering divided response—eliciting both attraction and resistance. The work became a site of quiet disagreement, prompting questions around value, finish, and whether meaning resides in execution or intent.

Selected by the curator for inclusion, the works formed part of a broader presentation of emerging contemporary practices.
